As Max Van Name transitions from high school to the world of work, the odds for success are against him with 80% of people with disabilities remaining unemployed. He spent the last five years of high school developing marketable skills by volunteering at restaurants, grocery stores and shops, working exceptionally hard to achieve his goals. While Max brightens his community and goes above and beyond at his volunteer jobs, many employers are unwilling to give him a chance. Despite the challenges he faces, Max is determined to get a paying job and find his way to independence. Premiered in 2019 in the UNC Linked In Gallery and was screened again at the N.C. Study Center.
